Nobody knows who they work for

This project stems from Jean Ziegler’s book, *La Suisse, l’or et les morts * (1997), which I stumbled upon while cleaning out our home library. This curious encounter sparked my research into the country and its geopolitical relationships. It also led to various artistic and political investigations related to money laundering and the involvement of world leaders in the plundering and illicit enrichment of Switzerland. In Geneva, the remodeling of street furniture, sidewalks, and gardens, using public funds and taxes, serves to whitewash the city’s image and conceal its dirty secrets with a supposed perpetual renewal. I used as a reference the image of the worker in the street (Attention travaux) from the signage used to direct pedestrians crossing the city’s continuous renovation zones.
