Untitled (calibration) is a performance that seeks to investigate how an individual recalibrates after dissociation and destabilization under systems of control. The performance relies on a score of various movements, playing out like a musical composition written for body and voice. Each movement is presented as a variation of each with the voice’s dynamic range and the body’s materiality explored as tools for affective liberation. The piece explores how we can push against structures of social normalcy, playing on the absurdity of social “masking”.

Furthermore, a dimension of calibration as experienced by individuals living with chronic illness and mental fatigue is explored. The work imagines what possibilities lie in taking a moment to stop and reset. Ultimately, the urgent questions of the ways in which we recalibrate and the systems that we calibrate to are addressed.
