You are about to see an image
2026 | F+F | ACT Valais
We are researching and reflecting on the life of moving images. We use the form of a 20 min. long audio-visual essay to try to understand the ways we see. The process of seeing images or anything else is less spontaneous and natural than we tend to believe. A large part of seeing depends on habit and convention.
Appearances travel regularly across the world to a single center, the center of the visible world – our eyes. Available in any size, for any purpose and anywhere images come to us like the news of an event. They become a form of information, which is continually transmitted, and everything around them becomes part of their meaning.
Once all the images belonged to their own places. Now they belong to no place. By using movement, sound and light we move into images to examine them and to see them in the context of our own life.
